MyD Update

Happy New Year!

It's been a busy Holiday Season here in the Kelly/Lopez household.

We spent Thanksgiving in Miami with Dave's family and my Mom. We had a great time: we went to the beach, we hung out with Cienna, had a wonderful meal, and went to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

We went on a cruise with my family! Had some family fun and got to do some wedding planning....

On the cruise we played miniature golf, attended Tea Time, and enjoyed Karaoke

While on the cruise we had our hotel tour, wedding tasting, and saw a flower prototype.

We've visited with friends.

Stayed with Lori, Damon, & Rocko.
Kim & Christina came to town.

Dave Pinzur spent the night and attended the salon holiday party downstairs.
Sarah and Adam came to dinner in Brooklyn.

And had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's Eve with Friends! WE are looking forward to 2009...

Five Year-Olds With Sticks

Our Fall season ended on Monday night. We made it to playoffs, but we're knocked out int the first round... but don't worry there's always Winter Dodgeball to look forward to ; )

Saturday November 15th

This past Saturday was the 3 year anniversary of the first day we met. We celebrated by having a fun filled Satuday!

We started the day by going to the dentist and having our teeth cleaned (PS that new water pick they use is quite painful).

After the dentist, we headed to the apple store on West 14th street. While we where there, Dave bought me an iPhone as an anniversary gift! Which I am very excited about : )

We then headed across the street to POP BURGER for a snack...those little burgers are yummy! After POP BURGER, we headed back to Brooklyn to play with my new iPhone.

We ended the night by going to dinner at Chestnut in Carroll Gardens. When we there in October we weren't able to get the tasting menu due to Dave's allergies (nuts & shellfish). So this time we called ahead to give them a heads up... and it was well worth the 3 week wait! We also had the wine pairing with the tasting menu. Usually they give you about half a serving to go with your course, but the bartender here must have a heavy pour because I was barely able to keep up!

All in all, it was a great Saturday with the man that I love! If you want to read the story of how we met, please check out our wedding website under the tab called our story.

Happy Halloween

Cienna was coming into town from Miami and Katie & Jeff were coming down from Boston... so Dave and I hosted a Halloween Party/ Carroll Gardens Pub Crawl. It was a great time... here are some pics from the evening.

Dave and I dressed up as Lucy & Desi (or a couple from the cast of Mad Men).

Thanks for coming, friends!

I also won second prize in the costume contest at Angry Wade's. I didn't even know that there was a contest going on! A guy came up to me and asked me what I was dressed as and I said Lucy and he handed me an envelope. I won a gift certificate for $50 in free drinks (that's literally what the GC said).

Countdown Begins

364 Days until our Wedding!!!

Dave and I celebrated our -1 year wedding anniversary last night by dinning at Chestnut. We've been wanting to go there since we moved into Carroll Gardens in June. We've been saving it for this special occasion and we were not disappointed. It was delicious!

More Pics

We had originally wanted to wear more Fall inspired outfits, the weather did not cooperate. We did however have great lighting.

Here are some more pics from the shoot:

E-Session 10-12-08

This past Sunday, Dave and I took our engagement pictures. We finally narrowed our locations down to Central Park and the Brooklyn Bridge.

We met up with Agaton at 3 PM on Sunday. We had agreed to meet at the corner of 60th and 5th Ave but unbeknownst to us there was a parade. It took us a little while, but we finally found Agaton (he was the guy with the big camera around his neck). We were nervous about the photo shoot but after meeting Agaton, he made us feel completely at ease.

Here are a few of our favorites from Central Park...

Decisions, Decisions

Not only did we get to catch up on Lost, but we also made few wedding decisions as well...

Reception Venue:
Kool Beach Club (as Dave said,"Kool with a "K" so you know it's good")

Cake:

We tasted some delicious options, but I think we're going to go with Tres Leches w/ Strawberries... YUM

PastelerĂa
The corner of Constituyentes Avenue and 25th Avenue
Playa del Carmen

Wer'e Back

Dave and I had a great time in Playa! It is definitely our type of kinda place... a laid back town with BEAUTIFUL beaches, tons of great restaurants and bumping nightlife. Actually we really didn't experience any of the nightlife ourselves, but it looked like fun from afar ;) We did however catch up on the last season's finale of Lost.

I'll post pics once we get them back from being developed. We forgot our camera battery so we kicked it old school with a disposable camera.

Outfit

I think I've found my outfit for our engagement pictures (thanks, Tara).I was lucky enough to go to Banana Republic on the one day that everything was 30 % off. I'm still not 100% sure about the jacket, but I love the skirt.

Dave and I have had Mets Saturday season tickets for the past two years. This past Saturday was our last game at Shea Stadium. They are tearing it down after this season and building a new stadium, Citi Field.

Dave and I have booked Agaton Strom! We're taking our pictures on October 12, 2009 (the weekend we get back from Mexico). This weekend we are going shopping for our outfits.

I love this look for Dave...

I have no idea what I'm going to wear...I'll know it when I see it. I'm meeting up with my friend Tara on Sunday to find the perfect outfit.

Martha Stewart: How to Fold a Fitted Sheet

I receive daily tips from Martha Stewart.com and I thought this one was worth sharing...

This technique yields a fitted sheet that will lie flat in the linen closet. (Instructions are for a right-handed person; reverse them if you're left-handed.)

With the sheet inside out, place one hand in each of two adjacent corners.

Bring your right hand to your left, and fold the corner on your right hand over the one in your left, so the corner on top is right side out. Next, reach down and pick up the corner that is adjacent to the one that was in your right hand (it will be hanging in front), and fold it over the other two corners; this third corner will be inside out.

Bring the last corner up, and fold it over the others so it is right-side out.

Lay the sheet on a flat surface, and shape as shown. Fold two edges in, so all the elastic is hidden.

Fold the strip of fabric into a rectangle. Continue folding until the rectangle is the size you want.

Thanks Martha!

The World

I finally ordered my 5 year service gift... my anniversary was Nov 2007. I'd decided on the globe. It was supposed to take 2 weeks to ship, but it arrived in 3 days. They must have known how excited I was about it.

Photographer Idea

We're considering Agaton Strom as our photographer. He takes beautiful portraits and I really feel he captures the way couples feel about each other.
